Their bespoke service is perfection. I bought some great aprons to cook in and a striped beach bag! (Although it is so cold in NYC it is hard to imagine ever using it!)

I love muted colours like these in the winter, they are cold and warm at the same time.

I think I actually wear more maxi-dresses in the winter than the summer, which is the reverse of most people, but there is something really exciting about a long skirt in winter and a crumpled glamour about the possibility of getting the hem wet and dirty.

This dress was one of those perfect shopping moments, when you see is full price and just cant afford it, and then see it a week later 70% off! Amazing, as if I was meant to have it!

So tomorrow I am off to the Big Apple for Fashion Week.
I am going to do full diary posts this season so stay tuned!

Rialto Mercato, Venice

Photos from my recent trip to Venice from the food market by the Rialto Bridge.
It was such fun getting the gondola that takes you across the Grand Canal to the Market, I had never done it before.
It's so great visiting Venice in the winter, all the Venetians are actually there! Although it was freezing and it even snowed, a fair trade for eating delicious pasta at Harry's Bar and getting the yummy carnival sweet treats, like Galani (a very light fried biscuit with icing sugar all over) and Fritole (a kind of pumpkin donut).
Venice is one of my favourite shopping locations, it is the best for unbranded incredible Italian quality leather and cashmere. I can never enough of the magic of Venice. It is a testimony to the beauty humans can create at their best.

Pork Pie Heaven

This is the beautiful Pork Pie I made.

It was very ruff around the edges but it tasted wonderful.

I used a Lakeland Pork Pie tin to cook it, and a number of different recipes combined. The tin itself comes with a recipe inside, and I used this as a quality reference, as it was developed to fit the tin.

Using traditional hot-water pastry, bacon, cured pork and quails eggs to finish it off.

Instead of using traditional supermarket bacon, I went to a very good local butcher and told him what I wanted to make, he was then able to recommend cuts and his own personally cured pork.

I highly recommend you do the same if you want to create a traditional (pink inside) pork pie.

I made mine with a friend, hence the 'T' and 'P' to mark our own work - immature but fun.

Below is the uncooked pie.

Ingredients

For the Pie Filling

Thick Cut bacon
Cured Pork (available from good butchers)
Fresh finely chopped herbs (sage, thyme and rosemary work very well, but anything you are growing is good)
4 Hard boiled quail eggs (or two small eggs)
Lots of salt and pepper
Nutmeg
Gelatine
Pork or Chicken Stock (homemade or good quality shop bought)

For the Hot-Water Pastry

Lard
Plain flour
Hot Water
1 egg
Salt and Pepper

Put all the meat in a food processor and blitz until more combined but not throughly chopped.
Add finely chopped herbs and seasoning, and lightly blitz again.
Boil eggs and allow to cool before peeling.
Mix the pastry and after it has cooled a little (it must stay warm to be workable! This is very important!!!) and is more malleable and less floppy line the tin with 2/3 of it, reserving a 1/3 to make the lid.
Fill the pastry lined tin with 1/4 of meat in the bottom.
Add the eggs spaced equally across the bottom of the tin. Then stuff the remaining pork mix over and around the eggs so they are covered with a flat top of meat.
Add the lid of pastry and pinch it shut against the tin lining pastry.
Poke a hole in the lid to allow the stock to be poured in after cooking.
Cook pie.
Cool.
Mix stock and gelatine and pour through the hole. Refrigerate.
Remove from tin, slice (hopefully to show the lovely egg inside) and enjoy!

Sometimes the best outfits are the simplest. I love to wear denim on denim. It is great when the denim matches and when it doesn't, oddly all denim outfits can look awful and wonderful, it is so much to do with the person and the styling. I think it is a Marmite love hate thing.

Bringing Back the Hat. Part 10.

I love this Phillip Treacy formed Beret. It is a hat that is so simple and yet so perfect, you can't quite work out how they made the shape.

It is my alternative to the ever present winter fedora. Although I love fedoras, sometimes its nice to have an alternative that can also be dressed up and down and remains classic and simple.

This hat was a christmas present some years ago from my beloved Aunt, who in the tradition of all great relatives was the fashion-gift-giver to me as a child. Every present she ever gave me, held inside its immaculate store wrapping, a wonderful treasure from Harvey Nicks (who had a wonderful children's department at the time!) or Selfridges.

Smocks for Winter

I thought it would be fun to do a winter look for my Smock dress. The great thing about this dress is it is totally all seasons. You can layer underneath it and so it is so warm and it doesn't change the look at all.

I love wearing smocks in the winter with a shirt underneath, it is a great way to create colour and layers and the look can be so varied and exciting. My mother first showed me how, and I have been loving it ever since. Have a look at the smocks here! And don't forget I am having a SALE!

One of my favourite movie moments was introduced to me by Miss Frances Davison. It is the moment in Despicable Me, when the little girl sees a fluffy unicorn teddy at a fair, in blind passion she jumps around and says... "It's so fluffy I'm gonna die!!!"

Fab.

This hat pretty much has the same effect on me. My cat also has the same effect on me. So I include a very angry picture of him for emphasis! His face is total perfection.

Another Season Another Look

I find it so hard to believe that another fashion month is upon us again!

It makes me think about my favourite moments of the SS2012 collections.

I did a few illustrations of the best things I saw last season, which (swan head-dress excluded) will be hitting stores asap!

Although I saw quite a few shows I thought were amazing, these were the ones I liked the most (and worked best as drawings!).

Giles was the best show I saw for the whole of that season, and perhaps ever. It was perfect. The colours, the swans. I was in complete and total love. It was such a theatrical show in the most magical medival setting.

Costume Nationale presented such a full and wearable collection in the most wonderful glass and marble setting.

Ashish did these incredible daisy boots that made me so happy, they were a moment of styling genius.

Issey Miyake did this amazing light display, which kind of distracted me from wanting to faint from the unbearable and unseasonable heat of last October in Paris.

I love this hat.

It has happy memories.

It was bought in a vintage shop in Antwerp. If you haven't been there make a trip ASAP! It's so fun. There is so much to do, the shopping is great, as is the national gallery and the art scene in general. Not to mention the massive Ann Demeulemeester store.

I was taken by one of my best girlfriends. We had a totally girly weekend. Perfection. Plus hat heaven.

Winter Socks

Some times it is really nice to wear something comfortable that is simple and yet just works.

Although I'm a massive fan of the extravagant and exciting I also love a change of pace.

I think this look is all about the accessories...

I have been obsessed with this Wanderlust & Co jewellery every since I got it. It is simple, but I really enjoy wearing it.

I find this Botkier bag so useful too. It is the perfect weekend bag. I use it to walk the dogs, and I can throw it around and it still looks brand new.

I love the subtle colour combinations here, with the glasses and the bag, and the socks and the dress.

The Great Responsibility

Probably the two most common questions I get after the Holidays are...

How was your Christmas?

Did you get lovely presents? What did you get for Christmas?!

I think most people (including myself) have a childish enthusiasm about Christmas still.

I love the food most of all, but the decorations, traditions and presents are very close contenders. I love giving presents. I love that feeling of knowing you have found something really perfect for someone you love and waiting with baited breath for them to open it.

This year I found this coat under the Christmas tree.

I love it.

So for my first outfit post of the new year I wanted to wear it.

I hope you all had wonderful holidays and that you will have a wonderful 2012.

Wrapspiration

I hope you are more organised than I am, but if your not and you are still wrapping presents on Christmas Eve (as I have been) then here are my gifts... all wrapped and ready to inspire your wrapping to continue!

I love the look of a perfectly wrapped gift. Always will two layers of wrapping, either two colours of tissue or paper and a tissue, a big ribbon or raffia bow and as many trims as possible.
This year I spotted these great berries at covent garden flower market, and bought them as my extra touch. If you need help tying your bows or for more inspiration see my wrapping from last year HERE!

To be a Host

Just before I left London for Christmas, I had one more thing to do...
Host a fabulous party for Shanghai Tang.
Oh poor me - please note my extreme sarcasm!
The evening was a winning combination of the best things in life... a little help from my friends, a couple of amazing cocktails, irresistible nibbles, a-whole-lotta fashion and a sprinkle of Asia.
Some of the fabulous people who came along were... Vanessa Jackman, Candice Lake (crazy for the Erdem trousers she wore!), Michelle Bobb-Parris, Amber Atherton, Minnie Harding, Ella Catliff, and Alessandra Ferreira.
I was obsessed with the smoked salmon on potatoes cakes and the passion fruit cosmopolitans that we served in particular. Yummy yummy!
I hope the pictures give you a feel for a really lovely night. If not we can always blame Pete!

Home Made Hat

Bring Back the Hat. Part 7.

Some people may have already seen this hat when I wore it during PFW... HERE!

However not everyone is going to know that this hat was a DIY!

It is incredibly easy to do and the perfect party topper for the festive season.

All you need is...

a circular hat base
approx. 1-2m string of sequins (depends on the size of the base)
a needle
thread to match the sequins
A plastic hair comb

You can buy all these things from a good haberdashery, but I particularly like the selection at V.V.Rouleaux, and they also sell online... HERE!

Very simply you pin the sequins staring in the middle around and around in a coil until it covers the whole hat and then stitch them down. Following that, you attach the comb to the inside with a few strong stitches to help you to wear the hat more comfortably.

The holidays are here and at last I am getting a little break, work has been so wonderful this year and I have loved every moment. I have worked with some amazingly talented people but now a rest feels fully earned. So please don't hate me if for the next few weeks you hear from me a little less than normal.

Falafel

I love Falafel.

I think it is the yummiest vegetarian thing you can eat.

Hot, herby and fried.

This recipe is based on one I found on FoodGawker from a blog called Just a Taste... HERE!

I adapted it, inspired by the wonderful and yet unbeaten Falafel King, based on Portobello Road (amongst other places).

I used a bit more herbs, as you can tell from the colour of the mix, and I used a mini ice-cream scoop to shape the mix, however a melon baller would work just as well, the key it to make sure they are tightly packed otherwise the air pockets will open in the fryer making a big mess.

I also made a salad to go in the warm pitta.

I love the salad they stuff in at Falafel King, so I made my own version... using flat leaf parsley, tomatoes, cucumber with some white balsamic vinegar, nut oil, sugar and lots of salt and pepper.

This works just as well as a canape with the sauce as a dip. So make some this festive season!

Ok so this is my moment to admit I cheat sometimes.

I know it's wrong and our parents told us not to, but sometimes I just cant help myself.

The moment presents itself... and away I go!

So my most recent cheat confessions read as follows...

Pete and me were the DJ's for an event recently, and I really liked the outfit I wore... only I forgot to take a picture, so I have cheated and re-created it here.
Pete and me were working on a studio shoot and the backdrop and lighting was all set up so I just thought this might be a really amazing time to take some different outfit shots with a studio set up, so I cheated and the results are here.
There will be a few more to follow, so although I have worn these outfits recently I did not shoot them on the day I wore them. I cheated.

There I said it! I cheated, I cheated, I CHEATED!!!

On another note... this is my new fab clutch from WanderLust + Co. Bling Bling. I love their jewellery they are such a great little find. All my friends have been trying to steal the great pieces I have from them. I will post on them soon. Have a look at their stuff HERE!

I am pretty obsessed with these Thakoon boots too, my mother gave them to me as a present for all my hard work detoxing. Today I am wearing my new bow ears from Marie Mercié. I love this hair piece. It looks like a bow close up, but the silhouette is like little ears. Being a massive fan of any animal-ear themed headwear this piece totally hit the spot. I had to go to the store in Paris and ask for it, at which point the last one was whipped from a hidden cupboard just for me!

Austria and a Detox

So as you may know I have been away for a couple of weeks in Austria on a Detox. I can say hand on heart, I didn't cheat once, and that it was the hardest thing I have done in a while. Not the food, but keeping your spirits up when you are so focused on your health. Turns out health is pretty depressing!
Nonetheless I had my fabulous mother to keep me going and a million DIY projects, including knitting a feathered scarf and crystallising my Blackberry! (don't worry posts to come soon!)
The detox clinic was set in the most beautiful location, surrounded by mountains and lakes. The air was so clean, although freezing!

My new glittery hat kept me warm and cheered up. As you know I love anything resembling a disco ball! It is from this great little online store Mickey's Girl. They have some really fun and unusual things. I am particularly liking their sequin skirt and sheer blouse at the moment.

I also had to wear my Celtic sheepskin boots every time we went outside because of the cold. I love celtic, they are a local English company with great credentials and I always think where possible it is better to help a smaller company if the quality is as good or better than a larger one.

So as for my top 10 detox tips they are as follows...

Chew Chew Chew - more than you can imagine, like between 30-50 times.
Put your cutlery down between bites to slow yourself down.
Stop eating just before you feel full. Takes some adjustment but works.
Drink as much good water as possible, the better quality the water the better.
Exercise, walk whatever... but keep moving.
Dont eat raw food after 4pm.
Try and eat small and early suppers, as in before 7pm if possible - This one is tricky if you have a life.
Take a tablespoon of cold pressed flax oil a day with your food to make sure you are getting the all important Omega 3 without all that fishy stuff.
Only cook with warm pressed oils, cold or virgin oils are not good for you to fry with.
Live your life, try and keep one of these going but to be honest real life is not a secluded Austrian clinic and you shouldn't kill yourself pretending that it is.

This is one of my Peony Lim Smocks.
I just love the colours of this one. I think a huge floral print is sometimes the best thing you can wear. I am not even a massive pink person, but the colours are like sugar mice!
I love anything you can dress up or down. You have to know you are going to get the maximum wear out of anything that costs more than you can make an hour.
I wore this smock at PFW this past season and these photos are all from that day.
In fact the last one by Vogue Brazil was taken just after I nearly died from the heat inside the Issey Miyake show - trust me it was not glamourous at all.
Smocks are the perfect christmas present... they will always fit, they are always stylist and they come wrapped.

Bringing Back the Hat Part 5.

This hat was part of the great square sequin collection by Burberry Prorsum in S/S 2006.

I loved the cardigan and the hat from this collection. They were so fun and unusual.

Although this hat has been copied over and over by other brands, I still think the original is the best.

Also I am a fan of anything that resembles a disco ball.

This outfit combines some of my most favourite pieces at the moment.

First of all I am obsessed with this Hakaan Biker Gilet, it was a wonderful gift from my mother from Colette in Paris (she also has a matching one!). I wear it all the time. The leather is really thick and luxurious and it looks great with so many outfits. People tell me it looks like armour, but my mother says it is more like a teenage ninjah turtle (we were obsessed with them when we were little).

I also love love love these disco boots. They are so much fun, I like to think of them as a party on my feet. My very own saturday night fever disco balls that come with me wherever I go.

My detox is nearly over now, which I am soooo happy about. It has definitely been an experience.

I cant wait to get back to London and get ready for Christmas... it is absolutely my favourite holiday.

I think they are very clever about how they present their products. You feel you have been invited to a wonderful tea rather than a boring meeting.

Last season was a delight of flowers and cakes. Perfection.

Still detoxing in Austria is making me miss my little doggies, I am sure their little silky ears would be wonderful company here. So I thought I would post this hat today as a little reminder of Cinderella's cuteness.

I love this hat, so much so I have it in two colours, Navy and Black. I actually found them at T K Maxx which makes the double purchase totally ok! Right?!

Anyway I am nearly halfway through my detox now so wear a hat this weekend and tell me about it to cheer me up. Pretty please?!

Ham and Cheese Bread Heaven

This is one of the best things I have ever made.
If you don't try any other recipes on this blog, give this one a go.
Not only is it super easy, but it really looks lovely and is perfect for winter with a soup or strew. I love it with Heston's Ham and Pea Soup.

So first of all you should know this is a cheats recipe.
I don't think that home-made bread is ever a huge sucess. It always has the wrong texture or tastes of yeast.
So I highly recommend that you cheat, however you could of course make your own bread dough and replace that with the pre-made dough I recommend.

Ham and Cheese Bread Heaven.

1 packet of Jus-Rol White Rustic Loaf Dough
6 slices of cheese (Edam, Cheddar or Red Leicester - I like to use a mix)
1 cup of finely grated cheese (same mix as above)
1/3 cup of finely grated Parmesan
12 slices of good Ham (I like to make my own coke boiled ham from a Nigella Lawson recipe and slice is super thin, but a really good supermarket version is fine, it should be super thin and preferably have fat on it still)

Preheat oven to 180 (for a Fan) or 200 (for a regular oven).
Cover a baking sheet in non-stick foil and sprinkle semolina over it.
Take your Jus-Rol White Rustic Loaf and remove it from the tin.
Cut the roll open along the seam you will see and gently but firmly encourage the dough to unroll along the line that is already there. You will end up with an almost flat sheet of dough, similar to a sheet of pastry.
Lie the dough on the prepared baking sheet.
Place the slices of cheese across the whole dough so it is covered. Then cover the cheese in 10 slices of ham in two overlapping rows.
Sprinkle 3/4 of the mixed grated cheese over the top of the ham.
Now roll the dough up in the same way that you would a swiss roll, try to do this as tightly as possible. Make sure the the final roll leaves the open section on the bottom touching the tray.
Take a knife and cut 1.5 inch diagonal slits into the roll along the top at 1 inch intervals, cut down through the dough until you see the cheese slices and then stop.
Use the remaining 1/4 cup of grated cheese to stuff the slits along with the 2 remaining slices of ham.
Finally sprinkle the grated parmesan over the whole loaf, and place in the oven for 30 mins, or until the loaf is a dark golden colour and has a crispy outside.
Place the loaf on a cooling rack for 5-10 mins then slice.

When I went to take pictures of this outfit, we just happened to come across a bicycle that was exactly colour co-ordinated with it. So I just had to pretend it was mine! However those of you with really keen eyes will be able to see that it is still chained to the fence...

Regardless, I really wanted to post a proper autumnal outfit. I love the colours of Autumn. All the greens mixed with browns, tans and oranges. The colours always make me think of cashmere jumpers, cinnamon, long walks kicking leaves, pumpkins, stews and open fires to warm damp feet.

I hope the pictures make you feel seasonal, even if like me the closest thing you are having to a 'proper country autumn' is walking through Hyde Park!

Meanwhile I am in Austria at a detox clinic. No comment so far. Lets just say the view of the lake is better than what was on my plate this morning.

During Fashion Month I did a shoot at the Chanel Exhibition in Harrods. These are the photos from the final piece.

It was a really late shoot and I didnt get home till close to 2am in the middle of LFW so it really was a long day, but the team were all really lovely.

It has to be said it was one of the best fashion parties I have ever been too.

Alice & Olivia are expanding in the UK so I am so excited to see what is to come. They are such a cool and fun label.

I know most people talk about Joseph's many coloured rain coat, but this is a different Joseph and a different part of his wardrobe.

I remember buying this hat very clearly, my mother bought it for me from my favourite shop... Joseph. We always go to the one on Brompton Cross, and I love love love it! They stock all my favourite designers, and the shopping experience is pure luxury. Its just great. This hat is actually from their own brand. I love its floppy nature and cheeky peeking it makes the wearer do.

The store is now only a day away from launching so as a little teaser I thought it would be fun to show you one of the items for sale.

During NYFW I wore this dress, it is one of the products I am now going to be selling in my store.

It is made of a cotton denim, and based on a design of a fishermen's smock.

My family have been wearing smocks for three generations and they are very much a part of our family style.

My smocks are all hand cut and made in Cornwall, England and all the fabric is hand sourced across the country by me. These means that each piece has had a lot of love go into its creation and each is very unique.

I altered the design for the dress to give it a more feminine and modern feel. The neck is wider, the sleeves are shorter and the body and pockets are longer.

The dress is so comfortable to wear and really does hide a multitude of sins (which is why I love it!).

The dress comes in two sizes, the S/M size cuts above the knee and is slightly more fitted, while the M/L size covers the knees and is wider cut.

I was so delighted that during NYFW it was featured on Vogue Japan, Vogue Italia, Style Italia, New York Magazine's The Cut, Grazia Italia and Elle USA.

I really hope you will like my Smock Dress and that you will have a look at it in my store tomorrow when it launches. Wish me luck!

Part 1. Hats

I'm obsessed with hats.

I think they are massively under-worn modernly. I would like the culture of hat wearing to reemerge, so here is my little statement to that effect.

This is a wool beret I picked up in Paris a couple of years ago. I bought it from one of those super trashy touristy shops. Sometimes trashy things can be chic in an ironic way, this hat has a sense of humour. A beret is a really easy hat to wear if you are a bit hat shy. You can ease yourself into the hat wearing state of mind with a little beret action this weekend.

As an after thought... This is a Max Factor Colour Elixir Lipstick, which the lovely people sent me as part of selection of lipsticks that they matched to My-Wardrobe dresses! How fun is that?!

The detailing on these tights make them so special. I love outfits that surprise you as you get closer. Its starting to get pretty cold in London now, so I am excited to bust some great tights out. There isn't anything better than the perfect pair of tights.

I have wanted to use black and white photos for ages now, but I never want to loose any excitement from the colour of the clothes. This outfit was the perfect opportunity to do it since the whole outfit was black and white anyway!

I love this shirt. I have it in black as well, and it is so beautiful in real life. I remember being obsessed with this collection by Stefano Pilati and the runway show that went with it. The catwalk was covered in purple Pansies, it was just stunning. (See HERE!)

I recently had a chowdown with the wonderfully talented Diane Birch at the Hoss Intropia store in Regents Street. Hoss Intropia invited me along to interview her and have a look around their collection.

I really liked the ethos and vibe of Hoss Intorpia, so relaxed, and yet so traditional.

Diane is a wonderful fit for the brand, both have a independence, and a style that is relaxed and yet extravagant. Hoss Intropia seem to be the perfect town to country clothes, casual enough that you won't ever seem over dressed, but chic and individual enough to always be comment worthy.

Unfortunately on the night I had the remains of Post Fashion Month Flu, so I didn't like to stay around too long incase I infected anyone, not least Diane, who was performing in store later, however you can see what I missed HERE!

It was really fun being photographed by Mr Newton for the first time too, he has such a eye for what he wants it makes the whole process really interesting.

I am off to Paris for the last fashion week of this season today.

I cant wait to fit a bit of cafe book reading, shopping and eating of french food into the trip!

I love the skirt, it's so happy! The designer is the best girl, and she hand draws all the prints before they are screened onto silk.

I really enjoyed my trip to NYC for Fashion Week this season. The weather was fabulous, I had my trusty partner in crime Frances Davison with me, and the shows were great.

My favourite shows were definitely...

Cynthia Rowely (would have worn every single piece that went down the catwalk, so rare for me)
Tibi (happy happy happy)
Tory Burch (best location and general show)
Diesel Gold (mega models and metallics make me happy)
Nanette Lepore (colourful fun and live music)

I will do illustrations and catwalk notes as soon as I can, so you can see what I mean.

The atmosphere at NYFW is so different to LFW. I think the great weather helps, but also the people are very different, I love the dressed up vibe in NYC (London is so much more casual cool), I think because I love fancy pants outfits, any excuse to make the most of my wardrobe. It made for a wonderful change, although I cant say I wasn't excited to see my wonderful bed in London.

NYFW this season fell over the 10th anniversary of 9/11. The city was so respectful. The safety measures did everyone involved credit, and I felt there was a general feeling of survival, community and healing. Frances even wore an USA flag dress for the day!

I also attended the Mulberry 40th Anniversary Party while in NYC, which was so much fun, Kasabian played a full set, everything was decorated with Mulberry Bag Balloons and I got a balloon peony bracelet made for me to take home... now what more could a girl ask for?!

People always ask what places are on your hit list when you visit different cities, so incase you were interested here are my must sees for NYC...

Manolo Blahnik (by the MoMa, nicest sales peeps ever! Plus they stock differently to London)

These are some amazing dresses from Isolda London, I really wanted to shoot them in a fitting setting so, I thought a wild field was the place for an english tiger and a british parrot. I was so glad when the weather turned out to be so wonderful as well. These warm weather dresses are so beautifully comfortable to wear, I am really hoping they will make some fabulous Maxis for Winter. I definitely would need them in my life! You might spot me in some more Isolda for Fashion Month, packing and extensive preparations are underway now, ready for NYFW! See you there!

These are a yummy treat for the bank holiday weekend. Elderflower cupcakes are so yummy with raspberries or blackberries on the top. The sponge is elderflower flavour and the frosting is mascarpone and elderflower. I based these loosely on a recipe from Waitrose.
I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend eating too much with family and friends!

This was my birthday cake this year. It was based on a recipe from I am Baker.
It was so pretty and the cake was flavoured with Pandan which is my absolute favourite cake flavour.
So I had a very happy birthday!

A lazy summers day in Cornwall. There have been far too few glorious weather days this year, I am crossing my fingers for an indian summer for September (fashion month), I would rather not have to pack winter clothes for NYC and Paris! My suitcase will be full and I will only have coats in it. However this little Love wrap dress is perfect when the weather is good. I love the colours with the extra blue in the slip and belt to make the pattern pop, and a mix of floral and animal prints always cheers me up.

Bacon and Cheddar Muffins

These Bacon and Cheddar Muffins are great for breakfast or with soup and salad. The texture of the muffin is really light and crumbly just like a sweet breakfast muffin. I think it is fun to make them into mini-loaves like this, although you can of course just make the regular shaped ones.

These are a version of a recipe from FoodGawker - a great compilation recipe site that sources from 1000s of blogs - from the blog Shop.Cook.Make.

Try them this weekend they are super easy to make!

I was recently in the South of France staying near Saint Tropez, and being a shopoholic I couldn't resist a visit to the mid-week market there. There was a wonderful array of vintage bags, panama hats and yummy food. This was the outfit I wore to the market that day.

The dress was a birthday present from my mother, and it literally fits like a glove, which is fabulous! I never normally wear green because my skin tone tends to look bad in it, but this dress has a beautiful mix of jade and blue, which I am mad about! I think the print is very Erdem.

I was in Cornwall again recently and the weather was amazing! Cornwall in good weather is the best place in the world. I ate and swam and hung out with the native animals. I thought the crochet was very in tune with the warm weather. So here was an early evening outfit.

I was lucky enough to get sent these fabulous Giles Deacon for Nine West boots in advance of them hitting the store. I am in love with them, they go with so much, and they are sooo comfy! I love a dark shoe with a nude outfit, I think it makes it pop.

A couple of weeks ago I went into the Grazia offices to shoot this story.
It is my best high-street buys for under £100. I used Zara as my store, and that is where the blue dress I am wearing is from.
