Do some weekend research...

I have always loved the black and white movies - actually not even black and white... just old, like the golden age of cinema type job.  When I was a geeky teenage - something I am still attempting to grow out of... Ssshhhhhh our secret - I was obsessed with these movies; Audrey Hepburn, Marylyn Monroe, Marlin Brando and Frank Sinatra.
But their were two films that made me want all the clothes, and well just to be the leading lady... These were Sabrina and Funny Face.  
I understand that at this point most people of similar sensibilities to me are thinking... 
'OH GOD!!! another of those deeply unoriginal girls who has a breakfast at tiffany's homescreen and poster! AHHHHhhhh'
... luckily for you I am not one of those girls - I do not own nor have I ever, a Breakfast at Tiffany's Poster! - I hope these pictures show a much better side of Ms Hepburn!


Sabrina is about a girl who falls hopelessly in love with her fathers boss, and so her father sends her to Paris to get over it, with a little help from Givency (who actually designed the costumes for this section) she reappears in the USA to take her pick of men!











I believe Funny Face is THE original fashion film.  Audrey Hepburn plays the first of Tyra Banks America's Next Top Models - no only joking - but she is a book worm who is 'discovered' and becomes a huge fashion model. Every fashionista worth their AlaÏa should have seen this film.

  1. Lovely! I am basically forced (in a good way) to watch the Turner Movie Classics channel on TV (where the first clip is from) when I go home to visit my parents as my dad is ADDICTED to it! ("They don't make 'em like they used to.")

  2. i looove Sabrina! i had it on DVD when i used to live in Australia.. but had to leave it behind when moving to London.. I havent seen funny face or roman holiday.. i might watch it this weekend actually
